who we are.

after meeting at a poetry class at Stanford, we realized we had a shared desire for creating. following years of writing, picture taking, and everything in between, we decided that it was time to finally put our work on display. yet, we realized that there were few places where we could securely and effortlessly publicize our work without having to apply and win a contest. with millions of other teens in our world, we assumed that there must be others who felt the same way as us. so, with other artists in mind, we decided to create a safe space open to submissions from all people and all artistic mediums.

and with that… salad days came to life. <3

chase —

chase is the 18-year-old co-founder of salad days. she is a student at Stanford University. she is a poet, writer, tap dancer, basketball player, lover of shoes, and fashion enthusiast. she absolutely adores the shows Gilmore Girls, Arrested Development, Jeopardy, and Shark Tank while her favorite movies are 10 Things I Hate About You, Little Women, Napoleon Dynamite, and The Giver. she is what most would call a “jokester” and loves making others laugh, whether she is sarcastic or not. she spends most of her time laughing, reading, or cleaning. (clean freak is an understatement). her favorite book is Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, but one day she hopes to write her own best selling poetry novel. as of now, she plans to attend college for creative writing and one day work in a publishing office. as a young child, her biggest dream was to write a book. as she currently writes her first poetry novel, she wants to remind you to always, always, always do what makes your heart happy and never ever give up on your dreams!
